Here are two free NASH reviewer PDFs to download, for teachers preparing for the National Assessment for School Heads (NASH), formerly the National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH). Each PDF holds fifty practice questions with answers, one for each of fifty indicators of the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH). Every question comes with an answer key and a full explanation of all four options. Both files are A4, ready to print or to read offline on a phone.

DepEd Memorandum No. 069, s. 2025 renamed the NQESH as the NASH, so an NQESH reviewer PDF and a NASH reviewer PDF now prepare for the same assessment. The two PDFs are the printable editions of the free practice sets on this blog, NASH Practice Questions With Answers and NASH Practice Test Set B.

NASH Reviewer PDF, Set B 67 2.3 MB Set B
  • Set A is written from the data reports that opened this series: enrollment, learners, personnel, facilities, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), information and communications technology (ICT), and the three assessments. It also draws on the January 2026 Final Report of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II).
  • Set B is written from the newer analyses: how Grade 3 results predict Grade 6 results, private and public schools on the Grade 6 National Achievement Test (NAT), girls and boys in the senior high school strands, principal and administrative officer positions, schools reached only by foot or boat, and the enrollment projection to SY 2031-2032. Eighteen of its indicators are not in Set A.

Both files are free, and the links above open them directly, with no sign-up.

What is inside each PDF

Each PDF follows its online set, laid out for paper:

  1. A cover with the set’s links: the online version, the NASH Reviewer app, and the other set.
  2. How to use the set, how the four options are scored, and the blueprint of PPSSH indicators per domain.
  3. Fifty questions, ten per PPSSH domain. Each question names its indicator, career stage, item type and difficulty, and each domain opens with the data findings its items rest on and a chart.
  4. An answer key at a glance: the best answer and the points for every option, item by item.
  5. The full explanation of every item: the points and feedback for each option, why the best answer is best, the indicator’s text, and the sources.
  6. A score sheet by domain, the item-writing rules, and answers to common questions.

The questions come before the answer key, so you can answer a whole domain on paper before checking any item. On a screen, each question links to its explanation, and each explanation links back to its question.

How the NASH reviewer is scored

The NASH does not test recall. DepEd Memorandum No. 069, s. 2025 says it covers “conceptual and situational critical thinking questions aligned with” the PPSSH of DepEd Order No. 024, s. 2020, built on the Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome (SOLO) taxonomy. DepEd’s results memoranda score each response from 0 to 3, so partial understanding earns partial credit. The PDFs score every item the same way:

Points SOLO level The option…
3 Relational integrates the relevant elements into one coherent course of action
2 Multistructural gets several elements right but does not connect them
1 Unistructural gets one element right and leaves the rest
0 Prestructural misses the point, or is unlawful or harmful however reasonable it sounds

Each domain is worth 30 points and each set 150. DepEd’s fiscal year 2025 results use a standardized score of 65 on a 1 to 100 scale, and a raw total on fifty practice items cannot be converted to it. What the total can show is where your 2-point and 1-point choices cluster.

How to study with the PDFs

  1. Answer the ten items of one domain before turning to the answer key. Choose the single most appropriate action, not the most ambitious one.
  2. Score each item from the answer key at a glance, then read the feedback for the option you chose, not only for the key.
  3. Total your points per domain on the score sheet. Study the domain where your 2-point and 1-point choices cluster first, with its guide: Domain 1, Domain 2, Domain 3, Domain 4 or Domain 5.
  4. Take Set A before Set B. Set B revisits some of Set A’s indicators with new situations, so it shows whether the feedback changed your choices.

NASH or NQESH: is this the right reviewer?

Yes, if you are preparing for DepEd’s school head assessment. The memorandum that renamed the NQESH describes the NASH as developmental: it evaluates readiness for school leadership and identifies areas for improvement. Its content is the PPSSH. A reviewer for it should therefore test one PPSSH indicator per item and give partial credit, as these PDFs do. For what the memorandum says about who may take the NASH, the qualification standards and the 65-point result, read the NASH study guide.

Frequently asked questions

Are these actual NASH or NQESH questions?

No. They are original practice items written from public issuances and public data. They are not actual, past or recalled NASH or NQESH items, and no score here predicts a NASH rating. DepEd Memorandum No. 069, s. 2025 states that the Department is not affiliated with anyone claiming access to examination content.

Is the NASH reviewer PDF free?

Yes. Both PDFs are free to download, print and use for review.

Can I share the PDF or use it in a review session?

Yes, for non-commercial review, with credit to Mark Anthony Llego and a link to https://nash.com.ph/. The cover and every page of each PDF already carry the credit and the links. DepEd personnel who conduct review sessions must hold an approved permit to practice their profession outside official hours, as the memorandum’s item 15 requires.

Is the PDF the same as the online set?

Yes. Each PDF is printed from its online set and gives the date of that version on its cover. If the two ever differ, the online set is the latest.

Can I practice the NASH online?

Yes. The NASH Reviewer app has free practice sets with timed situational items, partial credit and an explanation for every choice.
